He’s an entertainer, event promoter, journalist, communications specialist and one of the Caribbean’s best kept secrets! But here at yiga!, we’re blowing the secret wide open!
Jamal Slocombe is a wearer of many hats, but currently he’s an entertainment journalist with a digital newspaper. And, under the alias “JSlo”, he is just coming off of an amazing Crop Over Festival season-one of his best yet.
Riding the momentum of his catchy 2018 soca tune “Rocker”, Jamal performed at Soca Royale as well as Machel Montano’s Rise…two of the biggest stages you can find yourself on if you’re an artist!
He’s only 21 but has grown immensely from the spunky 9 year-old performing on the national stage, to a cultural force to be reckoned with. JSlo has a promising career ahead.
“I’m excited to a yiga! Ambassador as I believe the features of this app allow Barbadians to rediscover the island, and for tourists to access great offers whilst they explore. Yiga! has opened the door for Barbados tourism to adapt to a technological age. Everything is just at your fingertips!” he says.
We’re proud to welcome JSlo’s vibes to the yiga! Ambassador family.
